Keeping water and impurities out of a diesel engine's fuel system is important, but it doesn't have to consume the entire battery. Parker Energy Systems' patent-pending FPM-050 Fuel Polishing Module is designed to remove emulsified water from diesel fuel systems and prevent contaminant build up by maximizing the effectiveness of Racor's fuel filter/water separators. The state-of-the-art piezoelectric pump installed in the FPM-050 uses about 2W to run, equivalent to 3.6 A-hr/day. Common navigation lights even take more power to operate. With such a low power draw, the FPM-050 can run continuously and unattended for extended periods of time, without depleting the battery. When run constantly, the module prevents water and other contaminants from accumulating in the fuel system, keeping the engine at peak performance levels.
