The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to evaluate where you are in life. Today I’d like to ask you; ‘Are you making the most out of every opportunity?’ ‘Are you living each day to the fullest?’ ‘Are you as healthy and fit as you should be?’ ‘Are you challenging yourself to become the best that you can be?’
Bates International will be closed for the federal holiday of Martin Luther King Day celebrated on Monday, January 16, 2012. Enjoy your holiday!!!
New Year’s resolutions are made by people everywhere and are also the subject matter of comedians. Business people are not immune and consider making changes and commitments as New Year’s Eve approaches, but with very little consistency or follow-through.
Successful entrepreneurs know that goal-setting and the planning process is a way of life. They are famous for concentrating their energy and efforts on what they want and blocking out anything or anyone who threatens that focus. While average people haphazardly pursue loosely defined goals, outstanding businesses concentrate on the attainment of a singular purpose with very high intensity.
Many successful entrepreneurs invest an inordinate amount of time and energy in selecting their major goals. Once the goals are set, they move forward with persistence and tenacity. These entrepreneurs are able to create an intense level of concentration to overcome challenges and achieve goals.
How to achieve their goals is often the last thing they think about before falling asleep and one of the first things they think of when they wake. Pen and paper is left on the nightstand to quickly record any ideas or solutions that come to them in the middle of the night. While the masses see success as a matter of intelligence or luck, the true entrepreneur knows that sustained concentration of thought and action achieves the desired result.
Take some time to determine the single most important goal you want to achieve in the next twelve months and then write it down. Next make the commitment to concentrate on achieving it. Then complete the necessities that turn the goal into reality. Give this New Year’s resolution life!
